We welcome the International Ascochyta Research Community to Pullman, WA to participate in the 2nd International Ascochyta Workshop. This workshop will be held on the campus of Washington State University from 28 June to 2 July 2009 and will build on the highly successful, “Ascochyta 2006”, workshop held at Le Tronchet, France in 2006. Overview: The workshop will review and discuss current developments in the area of Ascochyta blight of the cool season food legumes (peas, lentils, chickpeas, faba beans and lupins). Epidemiology and genetics of the Ascochyta blight pathogens, genetics of resistance, germplasm resources and integrated control of the disease will be highlights of the workshop program. Invited presentations will be supplemented by contributed oral and poster presentations. An international group of researchers is expected to participate with the goal of defining future research initiatives
